DONATIONS:
December 2007
At Least Kids made its first donation to Children's Hospital Foundation in December 2007. This $500 donation will be directly applied to the Department of Neurosurgery for their pediatric tumor biobanking initiative. This ground-breaking effort will establish a process to collect and characterize pediatric tumor samples. These will be used for genomic profiling studies and to establish new methods of analyses and unprecedented data sharing. Gene profiling of tumors is critical to begin to diagnose specific cancer subtypes and match children with appropriate treatment regimens.
June 2008
At Least Kids donates $5,000 to the Department of Neuro-Surgery at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in support of pediatric brain tumor research.
